I want to get started in animal activism and PETA isn't the right way to start, correct? Can someone point me in the right direction?
If someone would give me names of books for other activism things that would be cool as well. (link)

I'm not a fan of PETA myself, and I am by no means a vegan, but I think the best way to start in slow and steady. Contact your local SPCA and animal rescue and volunteer. This could lead to other issues you learn about and you can meet people who care about the issues you do.
