Q: Hey all. Well, I'm 14/f and I'm entering the 9th grade in August. I was thinking about playing volleyball in highschool, even though I don't have that much experience (playing in p.e. class), and they said that no experience is needed. I'm not sure if I should try-out because I don;t know if it would be best to be on the team in the 9th grade, or wait till next year, go to volleyball camp before the next season, and try-out in the 10th grade. I'm confused, and I don't know what to do. Could you guys help me. Also, what are they looking for, as of skills that'll get you on the team? Thanks.

I'd say go for it..try out as a freshman because its great for colleges to see that you stuck with something for 4 years [if you make it] and even if you dont you can still go to volleyball camp and try out next year, either way its best to at least give it a shot.
