about

Hello All,
I am counsellor with over 12 years experience specializing in parenting, families, youth and mental health. I answer questions in a blunt and straightforward way so if you are looking for coddling or really touchy feely type advice thats not me I provide real solutions for your problems and concrete suggestions in other words I tell you the plain truth I don't sugarcoat.

I am really worried these days with the easy access to the internet and all the false information that is out there and the fact that people believe it!! So please ask first. I don't claim to have all the answers but I can claim that NOTHING will shock me you can try though :)

I look forward to hearing you thoughts and questions.

advice

soo i've had my period since the beginning of july and i still have it! this is not the first time. i got it 3 years ago, so it's not like it could still be irregular. i'm scared to go to a gynocologist (sp?) - does any one have any idea whats wrong with me? and waht i could do? thanks so much.

Hey you should really visit a doctor, I know it sucks and is embarassing but its important. As for the length of time you have had your period the only time I have ever heard of this is when a friend of mine had fibroids on her ovaries. These are like small NON cancerous tumours that once you visit the doctor can be dealt with really quickly. If you put it off and they grow eventually they could need surgery. This is worse case scenerio so I don't want to panic you!! Also 5 days is the average period while 2 weeks is long 10 -12 days is average for some women, all women have different length cycles.
