well it depends on what your orthadontist says. for a couple of monthes after you get them off, you have to wear it all the time unless your eating. after a couple monthes, you go back to the orthodontist & they tell you you only have to wear it at night [supposedly for the rest of your life.] i know it can be uncomfortable, but you'll get used to it & in the end its worth it. pretty soon youll only have to wear it at nights. if you dont wear it, your teeth may move and get crooked, which messes up the whole 2+ years of braces.
