I'm a competative horseback rider (mostly hunter shows) and I love showing so much. The problem is, I always get nervous before any show. Yesterday I started shaking while I was sitting on my mare waiting for my trick (turn to jump, in my case). She could sense that I was nervous, as most horses can, and she figured there was some reason to be nervous about. After that she wouldn't stand still or walk foward unles my trainer was holding her, it was always backing up, away from the ring. It helps to surround myself with my awesome barn people (especially my trainer and my two best barn friends) because they tell me that no matter what happens in the ring, they will always love me as a good barn family should. However, it isn't always possible to be with them (for example, when my friends are in their classes). Also, once we get in the ring we are fine. Any suggestions on how to cool down? (link)
