What is a thesis statement?? I have to do a project along with a thesis statement and summary. I did the summary but im not to sure if i included a thesis or not. i just thought it was an opening paragraph to the story but i could be wrong.

A thesis stament is sort of like an abstract. It's basically an outline of what your paper is about to say. it's like a narrative of your report. the same way a speaker is introduced before their speech, your paper has an intro also.
