Here is my problem: I recently started to work part-time as a teacher in a private center. I realized my manager is sneaky. He recently asked me for a photocopy of my course material that I wrote for my students . My students have already photocopied this course material, so my manager doesn't need a photocopy. I believe he wants to make a book out of this course material. The thing is I spent 4 whole months preparing this material . I'm not about to let someone take my time and painful efforts and make a profit of it behind my back. How can I tell him that I don't want to give him a photocopy without risking losing my job? I need the money. Waiting impatiently for an immediate answer as I have work today. (link)

There is a lot of details you have left out here. Why do you think this man would want to make a book out of your material? There is no rational reason to think that from what I have read above.

Why is he sneaky? You simply do not elaborate and a case against him will not not stand up. It sounds as though you are are paranoid here that someone will steal your work. He cannot. If he did everyone would see it as plaigerism and go after him for it anyway. I think you need to relax.

He needs a copy of your courses for good reason. This is how he makes his report about you and evaluates your progress silly. As he cannot sit in your class each day observing he needs a copy of your course materials.

This is to ensure the proper material is being taught to students and you did not miss something/do something wrong. How else can he accurately evaluate your performance as a teacher if he never sees you in action nor has any idea what is being taught to your students? That is all it is and likely the only reason.

I would galadly make the photocopies. If he wants to use them for something later he will ask. If he doesn't ask then I see asking to be credited.

For now he seems to want them for legitimate reasons unless there is a pile of untoward details about him you have not given us to draw a conclusion against the man.

Well my manager lies in the advertisements about the center to get customers and I just don't trust him. In addition, at other places I've worked at the people a lot of people have asked me to make a book out of my material. So, I know that it's desirable material.
