a few months ago i painted my bedroom this elaborate pinkish orange color and its beautiful but its sooo vibrant. not to sound gothic, but im not a VIBRANT kinda girl. i love the color but.. i need to off-set it a little with a darker color bedding or curtains.. any suggestions? (link)

You could take a shade of dark purple or a color that goes along with it and sponge it over the vibrant color so it shows through really pretty as a backgroud for a not-so-vibrant color.
Not to sound gothic, but you could paint some shelves in your room a black color which would darken the feel of it.
I would basically sponge over it with another color, but bedding or sheets works wonderfully too. Just make sure to make sure that the color you choose to use for the sponge paint/bedding/whatever doesn't clash in the jar OR on the walls before you buy/paint anything.
