alright well im having surgery on monday of next week (the 11th)and i was supposed to get my period last thursday. but i havent yet. and its a surgery where ill be in the hospital for 2 weeks and stuff and i dont want to be on my period during the surgery cuz its like a 7 hour surgery and stuff so what should i do? thanks

I just want you to know that I had a 6 hour back surgery last year, during the beginning of a heavy period. I told the nurse and she gave me some mesh undies to wear and gave me a large pad to put on right before surgery. I was incredibly worried about the catheter being tugged on by the pad and worried about the bleeding etc. First of all, when I woke from surgery the last thing on my mind was my period. The nurses took great care of me. They changed my pads and cleaned me up and although it may sound embarrassing, it's their job and they do it all of the time! You'll be fine.
