Hey guys. Well.. tonight I went to a club for the first time, and met this really great guy. He asked to dance with me, and we did for a while, and attempted to talk a bit (but the music was so loud, so we went and sat down) He introduced me to some of his friends too. Anyway, I had to leave early.. and out of nowhere I asked for his number. This is TOTALLY out of character for me. I'm usually shy around guys, but hey. He gave it to me and then I gave him mine, and then he walked me to the door. I may be being paranoid, but was this coming across a little too eager or forward? I had a feeling he wanted to ask, but I could be wrong. Also, should I contact him first or let him contact me? I'm just totally new to this kinda thing and lost.

If you want to contact him, do so.
I'm a guy, and I don't think there's anything wrong whatsoever with a gal contacting a guy. Or asking him out, for that matter. Maybe that's just me.
The other thing is that I have a very hard time keeping in touch with people I don't see every day, and, with me, there would be a 50% chance (if I wanted to contact the woman) that I would never get around to it.
So, maybe you should wait a day or two, but no more than that.
