MY ex boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me because he said he wanted to be alone and needed to "grow up" some. I understand but he wants to be friends, he left me with this and said that he wasnt in any attempt to get my hopes up that he meant this " you are my first love and i want you to be my last" How would you interpret it? I would take it as a major compliment! Although he may need to take his time to "grow-up" he is doing something very smart by wanting to continue your relationship, even if it is only as friends for a while. And by saying that "you are my first love and i want you to be my last" he probably means that as long as you two stay in touch, when his alone time is over, he will come back to you. This is a mature step in the relationship I think and I really hope that things work out. Hope I helped! Just keep smiling and if it is meant to be, it will happen!
