How can I have a different index page instead of index.html?

My site is all in PHP and I want to have index.php instead of having index.html as the start page.

Help!

I'm sure you've tryed it but try renaming your index.html to index.php.
I doubt it would work though, worth a try.

If not you could either upload your index.php via FTP (or whatever you're using to upload) and make it overwrite index.html
If not then deleting index.html and uploading index.php.

You could also make index.html redirect to index.php which is what I had on one of my old sites.

edit// thanks for the one but I'm not copying their answers. I didn't even look at the other answers. I knew what you had to do from the start. and chances are more than one person is gonna know the right answer so obviously they're gonna give the same answer.
