advice
I think I am sorta ugly, so I want to wear makeup but not a lot. maybe like eyeliner and eyeshadow and some mascara. [something like that] i dont want to wear tooooo much! [not like 2 girly]. i dont want my friends to be surprised so i dont want it to be a major change, but plz gimme tips! thank ya!
Go to the mall. Any of the major department stores and tell the girl at the make-up counter the results that you want. She will then put make-up on you and you can see the results immediately and it costs nothing. Sometimes it is wise to call ahead and make sure that someone is there.
Here are some of the places to call, remember different parts of the country have different department stores. Here are some, BosCov; Gottschalks, Macy's, Sax, etc.. So now you understand what kind of stores I am talking about.
Look for the following counters, Mack, Lancolme, Clarins, Bennefit, Chanel... Just call the department store or go in and talk to one of the girls behind the counter and tell them that you want someone to teach you to apply your make-up. They will be happy to do it. You do not have to buy anything. Then have her explain everything that you are doing and then duplicate it with more inexpensive brands with the same color schemes if your parents won't spring for the more expensive stuff. Wet and Wild has a lot of stuff for like 99 cents that works well as a duplicate.
Just make sure that you tell the girl at the counter what you want to look like. That you want a more natural look but for it to be more refined. You can go to a new counter each week. Like I said it is often best to call ahead and schedule an appointment so that you know they will have the time to show you what it will look like and pay close attention to what they are doing.
Sometimes, a simple 15 dollar eye-brow waxing will change your entire appearance or a little face make-up hides teenage blemishes with a little bronzer over the top of the lid and around the cheeks and no one can tell you are wearing anything at all.
Another must is to find the right cut for the shape of your face. A good cut can accent your best features while downplaying the ones that you don't like.
Good luck... :)
