I watched Donnie Darko for the first time today, and I had a hard time "getting" it. I read through various websites, and I'm still struggling. I feel so stupid asking this, but could somebody relay it back to me in layman's terms? I might just have to watch it again, but oh well...

Hey. The movie is about this kid who sees things and he gets a chance to go back in time. But he decides to be killed because it was destiny and all the things that would happen like his girlfriend dying and him shooting someone would probably happen all over again.
