In english, I'm supposed to come up with a creative way to portray anything important in any of the books we've read all year .. and I can't come up with anything.
It's almost totally free. People have drawn pictures, done artwork, written poetry, and reenacted things in the books in the past. I'm willing to do anything that doesn't involve singing or acting but I just can't think of anything creative enough. (Some people in the past have done things like: done a paper mache bust of Othello, illustrated a Mah Jong table from Joy Luck Club, and written poetry on an old-fashioned looking scrawl for Othello.) So I was wondering if someone could help me come up with something.
We've read, this year: A Tale of Two Cities, The Joy Luck Club, 1984, Lord of the Flies, and Othello.

I am a junior and prom is May 13th...apparently it is getting pretty late to get a date. I don't have a ton of friends who are boys - I have some I am friendly with, but only in school & I am pretty sure none would ask me. I would feel silly asking any of them too, I really don't know them well at all. I just don't know what to do, & don't say ask my friends dates for their, because most of them all have dates already too. What can I do?!?!?!?!?!?! (link)

There's this guy I've liked for more than a year, and he's now going out with this really snobby girl. She totally has the need to have everyone know the depths of her intellect. Whenever I'm around her, I feel like such a moron. And it's not like I'm acting like a prejudiced asshole. I tried to be friendly. Whenever I have something interesting to share with her, she just lifts her blonde eyebrows and goes "Uhhhh, okay." She's basically an intellectual with no personality. She acts all shy and coy and stuff, and he finds this extremely attractive.
Well today, I saw the two of them making out behind the Liberal Arts building, even though it was raining. I feel so awful right now. Watching this girl I hate making out with this guy I've liked for ages is absolutely torturous.
Anyone who at least tries to make me feel better will get a 5. (link)

I went out with this guy 2 years ago, it only lasted like a day, but I was in love with him. There is nothing you can really do other the try dating someone. But I know how that is, you love him but becoming closer friends makes it harder because you have to be around him. Well maybe you should tell him how you feel and what you want to do about it.

ok i recently went to a party for a family friend's daughter. she is in the same grade as me & a lot of her friends were there who i'm not friends with and i felt really left out. there was this boy there who i think might've been in the same situation as me because he wasn't really hanging out with this girl's friends. well i thought this boy was really cute and saw him looking at me a few times from across the table. :) i regret not talking to him or anything (i'm really shy at first, so it's hard for me to start warming up to people) and i didn't even know his name when i left. just a few minutes ago i was browsing around myspace, and happened to look on one of the friend's of the girl's party i went to, and he had a comment from this boy. well now i know his name and where he lives and stuff [which is 20 minutes away from my town :( ] and i really want to get to know him and stuff, but i don't know if i should add him or not. like i dunno if he would even know who i was or not. especially since we never talked :( what should i do? attempt to talk to him or forget about him? thanks ♥ (link)

17F. Ok heres the deal. Me and this guy are sorta on the verge of starting a relationship, but he says he not ready yet. But i think its something else. I don't think that he is over his ex-girlfriend. He swears he's over her but i just don't think he is. He told me the story about wat happened between them and she did do him really wrong,and it really does sound like he was in love with her, but its been over a year now since they broke up, and I know u cant really put a time limit on getting over someone but you shouldn't dwell on it like he does. He keeps bringing her name into all of our conversations and goes on for hours and about how much he loved her and how wrong she did him and how much he misses talking to her. I know that if he loved her, and of course he will always love her, or have some feelings for her theres not doubt about that, and i don't expect him not too, but i don't think its just that. I think he is still IN LOVE with her and trust me theres a big difference. He says he's not but i don't know if i believe him, i mean i want to but there's something in my head and my heart thats telling me that he's still in love with her. And he says that he is kinda looking for some of the qualities that their relationship had, and some similarities between her and the next person he talks to and i am nothing like her. I don't know if i should just let him go and move on. Or tell him that we just need a break until he figures out how he feels about her or wat, although he says he is soo sure that he's over her. Or just keep talking to him and hope that he really is over her.

i really really like this kid. hes not just a kid hes like my best friend. ive known him for 2 years but i just started like really talking to him like in january of this year. he always sends me emails telling me to call him. he told me about a month ago that he liked this girl allie and i asked him today if he still did and he said ya i guess so why? allie has a boyfriend and they are pretty close so i dont think that they are gonna break up, but if they do she will probably go out with him even if she doesnt like him. he thought that i liked his friend but i told him i didn't caz i dont anymore im crazy for him. i was just on the phone with him and he was like so who do you like now and he constantly asks me that when we are on the phone. when we are in school i love how he looks at me. idk if i should tell him already caz i dont wanna loose what i have with him, but i dont wanna wait forever either. i dont know how to tell him i dont really wanna have a friend do it for me caz i think its better that i tell him , but he means a lot more to me than any guy that i've liked before. i wanna be able to tell him before its too late. when/how should i? thanks ill rate high to anyone who tries to help me.

I've been ill with a cold/cough/bronchial infection of some sort, but I didn't go to a doctor. Over the past three days I've been taking robitussin during the day and codeine syrup before bed. I've been getting plenty of rest, I've been drinking OJ to help boost my immune system and hot tea with honey to soothe my throat, and I have been staying home from school and not partaking in any strenuous activity. I even have a humidifier in my room on full blast nonstop. I feel fine now -- all exhaustion and dizziness is gone and my throat only hurts in the mornings -- but I have this horrible tickle in my throat that makes me cough ALL DAY LONG and I simply cannot get rid of it. I also have been unable to conquer my runny nose. Any tips?? (link)
