I just bought a tankini top (I have so much trouble finding one that fits but this one fit nicely and was cute so I had to get it) but the bottoms that went with it were pretty ugly lol. I think if you can't find a pair of bottoms with a similar fabric, you should generally avoid patterns, as a lot of them would clash.
Lucky for you, white goes with pretty much anything, so you can either opt for bright colors or blacks and whites for a more understated look.

Hey, I was wondering how you did the black and white picture with colors in there...what program did you use? Haha, I'm computer clueless =P
Hey.
It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it, although my explanation may be look kinda crazy.
I used a graphics program called Paint Shop Pro, but it can be done with Photoshop or things like that. If you don't have any kind of graphics program...get one. They rock my world.
-First, you take a color image, and choose the "freehand selection" tool (this usually looks like a lasso.) Then use it to outline all the parts of your image that you want to be in color.
-Next, you invert that selection; for me, that can be done by pressing "control+shift+I", but it works differently on different programs. If the shortcut doesn't work, try going to "selections" near the top, and then go to "invert." That should do the trick.
-Now you need to make the rest of the image black-and-white. For me, I go to "Adjust," then "Hue and Saturation," then "Colorize." Once there, I set the saturation to 0 (it doesn't matter what the hue is. I think on Photoshop this is done by going to "Colors" and then "Desaturate."
It often takes a little bit of tweaking, but that's the main way to get it.
Since I realize how confusing that may be (or maybe I'm underestimating your skillz...?), I have some illustrations that may be of help.
So, say you for some reason want to make a picture all black-and-white except for my big toenail. Sorry if some of the text is messed up.

Which one of these two dresses should I wear to my grade 8 grad? (Yes poka dots are popular in my class)

I love the polka-dot one. I think it fits you better, and the print is fun--something you want for your 8th grade graduation. I don't think the polka-dots are weird at all...they're different, but in a good way.
But in the end, just go with your gut; pick the one you feel more comfortable in :)

I realize that they definitely don't quite fit your description, but that's the best I could find.
Another option is to look at the non-chain stores in your area. This can take more time, but it's worth a shot. Tiered skirts are kind of bohemian, so try any hippie-ish shops you can find. Also, you might find one you like at a thrift/used-clothing store or Mary-Kate Olsen's closet (Ha. I'm clever).
And, if you're desperate: I suppose that if you or someone in your family can sew, I'm sure you could find plenty of patterns for a skirt that style.

my friend is wanting to run away and commit suicide. she was abused with drugs and is planning to kill herself by them. i am suicideal she stopped me when i tried to kill myself now im stopping her but i cant other than tell her how much ill miss her and everything but if she dies ill die right after because i cant live without her. she stopped me by doing that once and another time from cutting grabbing the knife from me and stopping the bleeding i love her. i realize all id miss but i still am suicideal. i will not go to anyone for this only our friends know and one of our friends will be with her all the time. whoever is when she is trying to run will run away with her but not let her kill herself. she was abused by drugs and physically she went from family to family all when she was very young and were 13 now. i need to help her only by our friends. if i was her id be dead by now. are we right for doing this? how else do i help her? i will not get anyone else involved its what she wants but well stopp her if not ill be with her always.

You need to talk to an adult RIGHT NOW. It can be a teacher, your parent, her parent, anyone you trust. YOU MAY THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THIS ON YOUR OWN, BUT YOU CAN'T. I understand that talking to an adult about this kind of thing is difficult, but if your friend is really serious about killing herself, then you owe it to her to do everything you can to stop her. If you love her as much as you say, you'll do what you need to to protect her. Maybe she'll get mad at you at first for telling someone when she said not to, but eventually she'd see it was worth it if you were able to save her life.

I think I have an eating disorder. I don't really show it, but I feel extremely guilty when I go over 1000-1200 calories. I'm 5'9 and 136 lbs. If I eat something after 7 [which Im doing now and Im stressing out] or just eat a lot in general, I freak out. My mind goes crazy when I think about food. I cant stand eating sometimes. What can I do? I think everything I eat will make me gain weight. I have a fear of getting fat, most likely because I was chubby in elementary/middle school. I think Im ok now, but probably need some work. Any ideas on how to not feel guilty about it? My parents are getting me a yogurt parfee. Those aren't bad are they? Should I feel guilty for eating that? I'm not sure. It makes things a lot more stressful. Does this sound like Anorexia to you? I do skip meals but not intensely. Any opinions? Thanks!

By the way, you are in no way overweight--I'm not sure how old you are, but it seems like right around a good weight for a teenage girl (which is what I'm assuming you are, sorry if that's wrong.) -The whole Don Imus scandal--a white man referring to a group of black women as "nappy headed hos."
-Gun control, especially because of the Virginia Tech shootings.
-Abortion is always a huge debate, as are gay marriage and sex ed in schools.
-The war in Iraq...whether America should be there, etc.
-Censorship on TV and the radio.
-Global warming.
-HPV shots--some people say they should be required for all girls over the age of 9, as cervical cancer (which develops from HPV) is the most common STD in women...while others say it encourages kids to have sex.

Hi there.
I don't really think there's a way to really become funnier or wittier; there's no concrete formula for humour, and everyone has different tastes. However, here are a few tips:
-Knowing a lot about popular culture and referencing celebrities can help.
-If you can do impressions/foreign accents, utilize that. It can be really hilarious (but only if it's really well done.) You can imitate someone specific (like a friend/teacher/celebrity) or just a certain stereotype (ditz/goth/nerd/gangsta rapper/redneck...you get the idea) Exageration is key.
-Timing is everything. Don't just blurt something out...wait until the right moment for maximum hilarity.
-Don't expect for everyone to laugh all the time; most people I know think I'm funny, but that doesn't mean I don't make a completely terrible joke once in a while.
Sarcasm, on the other hand, can be cultivated. The person below me (angie91) gave a really good example; the simplest, easiest way to be sarcastic is do the "noooo" thing-- just poke fun at someone stating the obvious. It's really just saying the opposite of what's true for comic effect; the trick is your facial expression and your tone. Keep your face totally blank and your tone emotionless. Most sarcastic jokes wouldn't look good written down, because you need good DELIVERY.
One last thought: study the humour styles of people you think are really hilarious...break their jokes down and ask yourself why they're so funny, so you can try to create a similar style (WITHOUT imitating them.)
