just tell her it's a way for you to keep in contact with your friends.
tell her you have your profile set to private so that it's COMPLETLY safe and no one else can veiw it but your friends even if it isn't private.
let her know the only way someone could be your friend on there is if you accept them, and that you never add anyone you don't know, even if you do.

maybe music? because myspace has a ton of music bands on it that you can download free songs off of. and maybe education. well you can tell her that at least. alot of teachers are using myspace now to write homework in blogs and such for students who were absent. good luck!

and that people cant see it unless you CONFIRM their request to be your friend
tell her you wont put your real adress town city etc.

and tell her if she wants she can check up on it every other month or so?

ahh myspace. Its really not as bad as people make it seem. If you use it right then you will be fine. You can make your profile private so only your friends can use it, if you dont accept people you dont know, and you dont give out your infromation your fine. Just tell her all that. i hope it helps
