Be Myself? Posted Wednesday February 6 2008, 5:52 pm
Ok, here's the thing. At school I never be myself because honestly, I act really crazy at home and I'm afraid people are going to think I'm weird. What if they start judging me, or they don't like me? Should I just forget what they think and start being myself? And if I do, what if they start laughing at me?

Behavior Posted Tuesday January 29 2008, 1:47 pm
Which is better, to have an outgoing personality where everybody knows you, which makes you more susceptible to rumors, or to be quiet and kind of standoffish so that no one notices you, and therefore won't talk about you? I know its a weird question, but I was curious. Thanks

Childish Posted Tuesday January 29 2008, 1:40 pm
When I was younger, I used to be very hyper and energetic. I wasn't afraid to act a little crazy sometimes, and I was very confident. However, now I'm 15 and naturally, I got more mature. In fact, people say that I've changed a lot, and that I've become boring. I thought that I was just being immature, but people used to like being around me. Should I go back to being playful and carefree, or am I too old for that now?

Morning Announcements. Posted Sunday January 20 2008, 7:53 pm
Typically, I'm an anchor for the morning announcements at my high school, however I know I've failed to keep the viewer's attention.
Can I have some tips on how to be more personable?
ie: I always lose interest once the other person starts talking when I really should be flashing a smile at the camera during that time.
Also, what are some good ways to hold back laughter to avoid excess recording?
Thank you!

Jesus Christ Posted Tuesday January 8 2008, 3:35 pm
can someone tell me about the phrase people say in frustration: "jesus christ!" why do people say that as:
Jesus (Christ) Show phonetics
exclamation (ALSO Christ) INFORMAL
an expression of surprise, shock or annoyance. Some people might consider this offensive:
Jesus, just look what a mess they've made!
and its considered taking his name in vain:
take sb's name in vain UK HUMOROUS
to criticize someone or talk about someone without respect, especially when they are not there
i dont know if jesus christ is technically "there" or not but "god is everywhere"?
so.. im confused. how did saying christ's name when y...

Kissing in europe. Posted Saturday January 5 2008, 4:05 pm
I'm really sorry if it's the wrong category!
15/f
Anyway, I live in Belgium, and I have friends from Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
I also visit France a lot, and make new friends there.
In my school when you see your friends you do the air kiss cheek thing to their right cheek.
(if that makes sense)
But I'm wondering what you're supposed to do in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Also I was on a skiing holiday last week in France, and I went to ski school. The last time I saw my teacher-the night before I left he put his cheek forward when we said bye and I did the cheek thing-but on the left side.
Was that right...or wrong...?
I mean I'm probably going back to the place n...

Talkative Posted Sunday December 16 2007, 8:00 pm
I like people who talk alot because I enjoy listening to what they have to say. Also, the more talking they do, the less you have to do. However, for some reason, some people don't like people who talk all the time, and i can't imagine why. As long as they don't talk only about themselves (and they're good listeners) then I don't see what the problem is. To me, they seem like good conversationalists and are the type of people you'd want to hang out with. They're good entertainers who always have something to say. Since some people disagree, I want to know, is it really better to be a person who talks all the time, or not? Thanks

Being Seated Posted Saturday December 15 2007, 9:08 pm
I know that when you attend dinners, you should always arrive and sit at chair where the hostess has placed a place card with your name, and that your date should always be on your immediate left. What is the proper thing to do if the hostess has left place cards, but your date is not on your immediate left? Of course, referring to myself as the lady, and my date as my male accompiant.
NOTE:
I am asking this question for my older sister who recently attended a dinner party where this situation occurred. She simply sat where her place card was, and same for her date. Was that the proper thing to do?

Christmas presents? Posted Tuesday December 11 2007, 6:26 am
I've been invited to a Christmas family gathering by my boyfriends family. It's a family affair, i.e. his whole extended family is attending. It's not a gift-giving thing, but I'm wondering whether I should buy some presents for his family, i.e. he has some really young brothers and sisters (6, 11, and 17). Would it be the done thing to buy them a present each? We've only been together 2 months. I don't want it to be weird or anything.
Thanks.

Christmas Presents Posted Monday December 3 2007, 7:12 pm

I don't have like a ton of really close friends. Like maybe 2-7. So for X-Mas, I'm getting my friends gifts, small ones, but gifts nonetheless. I want to know if I should give presents to the 5 or so close friends and ignore the rest or give gifts to all my friends? Then I am faced with what should I give to casual school acquaintances, if anything? Then that would make up most everyone I know, but I wouldn't want people in my homeroom that I don't know particularly well feel bad. And should I gender-base it? Like give gifts to all my girl friends, or both boy and girl friends or what? I need to seem generous and nice, but not snobby by not giving gifts to some people. And should I give presents to teachers? Thanks in advance to whoever can help me with this mess.

nail salon? Posted Monday November 26 2007, 3:06 pm
So, the other day I was getting my nails done and the woman was from a different country - she was asian, which is really common...but she said something and I COULD not understand her at alll. I asked a few times, "What? I dont understand." But she got kind of mad and I felt terrible because she was obviously trying really hard. She repeated herself like 8 times and I still did not understand. Just wondering what I should do in the future? Is there some kind of etiquette you should use when getting your nails done?
