Adult Daughter Behaving Childishly.. Posted Monday March 7 2011, 7:15 pm
Me and my ex husband have been divorced close to a year. I share my home with my adult (26 years old) daughter. My youngest son, 9, lives with us.
Anyway, I'm moving forward with my life and I've began dating. Nothing serious, but I enjoy spending time with this man. I have him over for dinner sometimes. Unfortunately my daughter, for some reason does not like him and is rude to him when he visits. ( I don't know why she dislikes him.) This puts my boyfriend off and I've been seeing less of him lately. One time she went ballistic when he took me out for dinner. She dates and I don't say a word! I wonder why she's acting this way. The divorce isn't entirely my fault and my ex initiated it.
Anyway, she seems to think I ...

There's nothing we do better than revenge Posted Sunday March 6 2011, 12:55 am
With my cousins and my siblings, it's always revenge. Whenever we do something bad to someone, whether accident or not, we always do something worse to that person. All except me. I think what they're doing is wrong. What can I do?

I can't go anywhere. Stuck at home. Posted Saturday March 5 2011, 6:17 pm
I'm 15, female. Every time I get on Facebook, I see all my friends having fun on their weekend. I'm the only one who stays home, crying cause of my terrible life. I'm not allowed to go anywhere. My dad says I shouldn't even have friends. I wanted to have three friends over, but my dad said no, no , & no. I had to cry for two straight days just for him to say yes, but still, he fought. I can't go to any parties, I can't see any friends. I have to be at home all the time. When he goes to friends house. When my brothers can do whatever they want. No one understands me in this family. I never hang, or do anything on my weekends. Which makes me think of real bad stuff, like running away, or anything just to ruin my life. I don't know what to...

please read my story and give me good advice on life Posted Saturday March 5 2011, 5:16 am
First i'd like to start off by saying that i'm a 16 m in high school right now. The purpose of this post is that I believe I need some sort of advice or somebody to talk to. So the beginning of the end of happiness is in 2001. It was just a normal day but a roomate had to pay the rent he his wife and his son rented a room. At about 9 or 10 pm they had an arguement and it ended in him shooting my mother, her friend that was there at the time and a couple of minutes later commiting scuicide. I believe this is what has affected me so much and has turned me into the current failure I am. Right now i am a junior in high school and am very confused about life in general. I don't know if i should even try at school or even have thoughts of just en...

I have resentments towards my elderly my elderly mother and parasite brothe Posted Thursday March 3 2011, 9:37 am
My 87-year-old mother is obsessed with my brother (we are all adopted) and has been ever since my birth. I am one of three children (the only girl) who was sexually abused by my adoptive father and sexually exploited by these two brothers. My mother has known this for years, but continues to cottle this 57-year-old brother (who lives with her still, doesn't work, mooches off her, steals from her, lies to her). Her home has been foreclosed, her car lost because of him and her weird desire to support him. Their grocery bill is over $200 a week because he sits there (pays NO bills) lives on unemployment while she struggles to buy food for him, her medicine and her cigs. The house is a sqalor, he does NOTHING to help clean up the house. He...

Pornography and hypocrisy Posted Wednesday March 2 2011, 9:40 am
My parents have been heavily involved in anti-pornography movements and legislature since I was a teenager. I felt that they were somewhat obsessive and refused to talk about anything but "pro-family" issues-all day, every day. I became pregnant as a teen and was condemned and verbally abused by my father for this. I never really forgave him. Fast forward over 10 years-I walked in on my father masturbating and watching pornography in our home. He ran away and hid and I never mentioned it to anyone. It made me feel rageful. I wanted to tell my mom because I feel it is hypocritical for them to continue to condemn others while there is a dirty little secret going on. But I never did. I dont want to hurt her. Also, my father helps a l...

I'm scared of my mom. What should I do? Posted Monday February 28 2011, 3:41 pm
My mom is always taking her anger out on me and my brothers for the smallest thing. She likes a clean house so if we leave a book or something on the counter she accuses all of us-my brothers and I-of making HER house dirty and a pig sty and leaving our crap everywhere. Also instead of going to the person who made the mess she just yells at all of us telling us how we should be smart enough to use our brains and to clean it up. She always goes on to my dad about how bad we are and how disobedient we are when she doesn't even give us a chance. One time I made Mac and cheese and I left the pot in the sink and was going to wash it when I was done and I told my mom that because she said she wasnt going to clen up my mess. In the middle of eatin...

My parent's dirty house is making my siblings sick. Posted Saturday February 26 2011, 4:50 pm
my parents used to make me clean the entire house as my "chore" for living at home, all through high school. My sisters are apprx 12 years younger than me, and because my mom is perpetually sick and my dad is perpetually working, i have always been the one to take care of them. Recently i moved out, and over the last few months the house has absolutely gone to hell. the carpet is literally covered in clothes, food, and my sister's toys. my dad has left some plumbing projects undone which has resulted in mold. to make a long story short, they no longer care if the house is clean or not.
I have noticed since moving out that my sisters (4 and 6) are always ill. they go through pneumonia, colds, flu viruses more than an...

How to deal with angry mom- family melodrama :( Posted Saturday February 26 2011, 6:38 am
Hi- sorry to rant but my family is crazy and I need to vent somewhere. Please help.
Basically, whenever my mom gets angry, she turns into a psycho and starts yelling at my brother.
There's a lot of history behind this. When he was a junior at high school, he started going through severe depression. At the time, my parents were having a very aggressive divorce and my mom was in a very bad state of mind, often crying and losing her temper easily. As a result, she didn't notice that my brother was depressed so she didn't notice when he started missing school without telling anyone.
When the teachers finally mentioned his absence to my mom she became furious and started screaming at him, that he was...

Parents divorce on my birthday Posted Friday February 25 2011, 9:46 pm
17/f
I'm turning 18 in two weeks, I'm partially excited.. But yet, I'm really depressed about it. I get more and more sad when the day gets closer. I'm already stressed out about school, because I can't help but think about when each of my assignments are due. It makes me realize what day it is, and I just think. "This many days till my birthday, and my parents divorce." Why are they divorcing? Money problem. When I'm 18, I'm no longer getting government money. My dad is retired, and he's turning 73 a week before I am. And it gets me really sad whenever I see him try to win the lottery, and hearing from my sister that my dad says my mom doesn't want him anymore because he can't support us financially. And it gets me...

my parents wont let me get rides from friends Posted Thursday February 24 2011, 11:15 pm
last year i had to beg my parents to let me get rides with my friends, who were older than me and had their lisences for at least a year. finally my parents said yes, and things were great, until one of my friends was involved in a car accident 2 months ago, and i was in the passenger seat. no one was hurt, but ever since then my dad wont let me get rides with my friends.
my mom is okay with me getting rides, but says we have to respect my dads wishes, so she wont talk to him about it. he wont listen to me. i got into so many fights with my parents about this, and eventually i gave up. so now i just deal with it. but its embarassing to have to get rides from my parents, and its hard to hang out with my friends. i dont like ...
