what is going on with my "friendship" with my ex?

Right after I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 months, there was alot of tension between us. The few slight conversations we had were very short and sometimes weird. We have many mutual friends, so we would usually end up near each other but not speak to each other. I know that part of the awkwardness is my fault, but lately we have kind of tried to talk when we pass each other (at band camp). One afternoon, my younger brother to the end of band camp, and I introduced him to some of my friends. In the process, he ended up hugging my ex. The next day, I asked my ex why he hugged my brother, and he said that he seemed really cool. I told him that that wasn't really true, and he told me that at lease my brother hugs better than me. I'm a fourteen year old girl and he's fourteen guy. We've been really close friends for almost a year now, and he trusts me with ANYTHING. We even have little pet names for each other, and we aren't going out.
But he recently said that he tried pot, and he likes it. I know what it can do to you, and I'm not trying to oppose it, because it's ultimately his choice. I told him to be smart about the situation, and I'm so scared for him. I'm scared that he won't be the same guy I love as a brother and he'll slip away from me if he does it. But I'm scared the same thing will happen if I tell him not to do it...what should I do?

Hi. I am 20 year old girl from India. This might take a bit long for you to read, so please have patience. I have been friends with a guy of my own age from the past 3 years and we still are really good friends. The problem is that we have been pretty intimate with each other all this time. I have a male friend that I have a crush on but I'm not sure how things would work out between us. He doesn't seem like the relationship type he just seems like a big flirt to me. He cool person to be around he's a lot fun and very attractive and I wish I could be with him and I hope he feels the same way but I have all these doubts. So I try to get over him and I do mostly. I actually haven't thought about him in awhile But I had 2 dreams about him that left me confused. In the first dream he kisses me and the second dream I'm at his house just hanging out. When I woke I was confused and it made me think about him and then my feelings starting coming back. What are my dreams trying to tell me?

back in freshman year (i'm a senior now) i started to like this guy. we can call him J. anyway J found out that i liked him through someone else and he told my friend to tell me that he only thought of me as a friend. Ok, I had a group of really close friends in middle school and high school, me and three other girls. We would spend EVERY weekend together, all weekend, despite the fact that we all went to different high schools. I'm not trying to be egotistical but I was the popular, smart, athletic, and pretty one in our group, the other girls got didn't have any interest in boys, C-averages, didn't play sports, and were a little on the heavy side, but they were my best friends. 20/F I have a friend that I met at a place we both used to work. Now that we don't work there anymore, we never see each other because we live like 3 towns over. When we do see each other, it's always a let down. I never have as much fun as I anticipate I will. We're just so different. He's extremely social and likes to hang out as a group, but I like to hang out with people exclusively. The sad thing is, even when it's just him and I, which I usually prefer in a friendship, I'm so bored...I feel like I'm getting nothing out of our friendship, he's a really nice person, but I feel like I'm wasting time and effort. Should I just avoid his phone calls? Just because he's nice doesn't mean I'm obligated to be his friend...Am I right? Opinions, please?

ok so i just got invited to my friends birthday party. its a pool party and then we are all going out to a formal dinner. anyway, this friend is popular. i however am not so popular. i am no ta loser either. its kind of hard to describe myself in terms of popularity cuz i can go from chillin with the "freakoids" to hangin with the popular girls. i will really hang out with whoever. i dont just stick with one group cuz i have many interests. some of which seem odd to alot of people causing me not to fit in as well as some. i want to be considered cool at this party. i dont want the girls to whisper things about me when my back is turned because they think i act wierd. i just want to know how to socialize and act around populars. w...

A few of my close friends have started drinking and hooking up with random people at parties & they're only 16, yet i'm totally against it because i have my own morals and i have made pledges to myself for certain reasons. But now they exclude me by not inviting me to things and such because i"m ultimately not "cool" enough because i don't drink and stuff. my best friend has ditched me for another one of my friends because she is in to drinking and thought she got pregnant. I've never dissed them for what they do, i just don't do it and they respect that. but it doesn't mean they have exclude me from everything? Please help, i don't know what to do ???

During the school year, I started drifting away from my best friends. My main one (who I've known since I was 2) didn't have any classes with me and started becoming really close with my other best friend (who I had one class with). I thought it was ok because my other best friend and I were really close. Then it started seeming like they were the inseparable 3. The two that I normally sat with at lunch stopped showing up, so I started sitting with my 7th grade friends (I was in 8th grade). so i have been friends with this girl for 5 years now. she thinks she's really superior because she became a born again christian. She some how thinks she can judge me. She likes to be the boss also. I have always been really shy ever since I was little. My whole life i've gotten questions like "why are you so quiet?" or "do you ever talk?" when people ask me these questions it makes me feel like I'm weird and makes me even more self cautious, why do people think asking those kind of questions is going to get a person to open up? It just makes me more quiet. It's like being quiet is the only thing people see me as. So I want to know, in your opinion do you think being quiet is a good or bad thing? Do you prefer loud or quiet people? What is something I can when people ask me why I'm quiet w/o being rude?
