Writing a prologue/exposition?

Posted Wednesday September 21 2016, 4:45 pm

I'm not really sure if this is the right place to ask, but can somebody tell me what the difference between a prologue and an exposition is (in writing)? And how do you write one without boring the audience to death?

watching football/soccer at school

Posted Sunday August 7 2016, 1:21 pm

This should have been asked a few months back since it already happened but I'll need advice in case it happens again. So I live in England, ok? and my school decided to screen 1 of the England games for the football/soccer tournament "The European Championships". However, I had a few things wrong with this
1) You go to school to learn , NOT to watch TV
2) It was on at the same time as a gameshow I watch called Catchphrase. And the episode of Catchphrase that was on was the first ever episode to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the show. It was an ep with Roy Walker as well, the king of Catchphrase, the original host! And it also has the original theme tune as well, and the original set and graphics. I wanted to wat...

Field Hockey Team

Posted Monday July 25 2016, 12:28 am

Last year I tried out for the field hockey team with my friend. I ended up making the team but she didn't. I enjoyed the season, but I still don't really have any friends on the team. Tryouts for this season start next month and I've been going to conditioning but I'm starting to think I don't want to play anymore. 1.) I don't have any friends on the team 2.) the other goalie is rude 3.) I'm very out of shape and I don't want to hold everyone back. I could quit but I don't know if I should plus I have the schools equipment so I would have to give it back and tell them I quit and I'm also scared people on the team with give me dirty looks in the hall once school starts. What should I do?

i might get in serious trouble

Posted Monday July 18 2016, 6:17 pm

Today was the penultimate day of the school year My friend came up with an idea to pull an awesome prank as a way to end with a bang. The idea was to vandalise the school. I disagreed with him about it but he wanted me to come with him to homework club where he had planned the vandalism. I was trying to do my homework while he was doing the vandalism. He typed the f word on all the computers, and drew a squiggle on the whiteboard and he also write f the school on the blackboard. There was no teacher in the room at the time so i thought he might get away with it. I finished my homework at the same time he finished his vandalism. But just as we were walking out, a teacher walked in and saw the vandalism and me and my friend. She told us to ge...

School trip

Posted Thursday July 7 2016, 8:11 pm

I went on a school trip to the cinema but i think no-one was allowed to stay during the credits because the whole class began walking out as soon as the credits started rolling, and i found it very disrespectful, because the movie's not technically over until the credits have rolled

Disgraceful school talent show

Posted Wednesday July 6 2016, 1:20 pm

my school had a talent show called St Anne's Got Talent, they claimed it was based on Britain's Got Talent, however it was nothing like Britain's Got Talent and i made a list of complaints but i'm not sure if i should send it to the school-I was at the St Anne’s Got Talent auditions yesterday but you got the format so wrong. I just read the contestant guidelines and the official itv page for Britain’s got talent.
The first thing wrong with it was- No golden buzzer, the golden buzzer has been on BGT (Britain’s Got Talent) for 3 years now, yet SAGT (St Anne’s Got Talent) didn’t even think of using it because they want an X Factor Format. If you don’t know what the golden buzzer does, it sends you straight through to the sem...

Passing score on standardized exam (CSET)

Posted Wednesday June 22 2016, 1:52 pm

I am working toward admission to a teaching credential program for elementary education in California (multiple subjects credential). For those familiar with the exams, I have to pass all three subtests of the CSET multiple subjects exam, and the CBEST basic skills exam. I just took the math/science subtest on the CSET multiple subjects (subtest 2). There were 52 multiple choice questions, and 4 constructed response (short response)--the scaled score is from 100 to 300 and a minimum score of 220 is required to pass. I know I'd need to obtain roughly 70% of all available points to pass. I think I did ok on multiple choice, but on constructed response, I am almost certain I did not do well--I probably got something like 50% on that section. S...

Really dislike P.E.

Posted Monday June 20 2016, 2:14 am

female, 14

I really dislike P.E. classes at school.

I jog outside of school, so it's not like I don't get physical education for the purpose of being healthy and fit, but I really REALLY don't like ball sports, and that is what we play in our physical education classes.

I am not very good at playing ball sports, and I know I can get better at them, but I don't want to, as I just don't find them enjoyable, and I know so many people wouldn't understand it when I say that, but that's just me personally. In terms of basketball, soccer, netball, football, etc. I am just not good at it. I have been doing physical education compulsory classes for about 8-10 years, including primary school years, and I ...

Revenge on kid who called me weird

Posted Wednesday June 15 2016, 5:35 pm

This kid called me weird, and i am autistic and highly offended by it. All i did was tell him about an episode of a show called round the twist where a tree impregnates a young boy, then he called me weird. I tried to tell him that everyone in the world is weird to an extent and that i'm entitled to my opinion but then he began doing a squeaky impression of me. Later on that day, he made fun of me because i said i'd rather date the queen than Ariana Grande (Aparrently she's a popstar, but she can't be that popular if iv've never heard of her). He also looked up the definition of weird in the dictionary, and he said the definition is Chris (my name is Chris. He also said something really ofensive), then I told him that more than 1 person in ...

I'm in a college financial dillema, what should I do?

Posted Tuesday May 31 2016, 12:45 pm

I'm 22 and a sophomore in college. I know that sounds odd, but when I graduated high school I went straight into the workforce because I didn't have the money to go into college and my parents weren't financially stable enough to help.

When I very first started taking college classes I lived with my mom who worked FT, I worked PT, and took night classes so the bills were paid and everything worked out.

Then stupid me, I decided I wanted to go for a Bachelors instead of an AA to further my career and the only way to do that was to move out of my town into a bigger one. I was making really good grades and was accepted for a scholarship that totally covered my dorming at a school a few hours away and decided to ma...

falling asleep in class

Posted Monday May 16 2016, 8:24 pm

I have never ever fallen asleep in class before, and I am a really good student. I am not staying up any later than I have for the past year, but suddenly I can't seem to stay awake in Physics. It's an afternoon class.

It started last week. I was tired, so I put my head down on my arm on my desk as I was taking notes, but my eyes started closing, so I propped my chin up on my palm instead. That didn't work; my eyes drifted shut and my teacher called me out and asked if I was okay.

Today I was taking notes and getting tired again, and I purposely tried to keep my head up, but even sitting up straight, my eyes drifted closed and I jerked awake as my head started to fall to the side.

How do I keep...

stressed out!!!

Posted Wednesday May 11 2016, 8:46 pm

I am super stressed out right now at school (I'm in Grade 12) because I have way too much going on! How do I make this easier on myself?

1. I have tons of extracurricular stuff going on. I have missed a whole bunch of days of class, and I will be missing more. This weekend is our school play, and I'm involved with the crew, so every evening this weekend I'm at school and can't get any homework done.

2. I have a part-time job, so I work 9-5 saturdays and some weeknights until 8

3. I have this massive art project that I've hardly started and is due in less than a month.

4. My mother is constantly on my case, nagging me about needing to work on my massive art project.I already know I ...

Don't know how to divide, PROBLEM

Posted Wednesday April 13 2016, 12:25 am

Hi, I have a big problem and you are probably gonna think it's ridiculous, but anyways, I am 12 years old and I don't know how to divide. This is a big problem because everyone in the grade knows how, my dad is gonna ask me to show him if I can divide in front of him and that's a problem. It's not really my fault I don't know how to divide, nobody ever told me how. I know how to divide like, 25 divided by 5 and stuff, but I mean the long methods like 2678 divided by 568 and that kind of stuff.
Please no answers like "You should know how to divide by this age" or "Ask your teacher" only professional answers, or you are getting a 1 at rating.
