The answer to this is to practice.
You need to build your confidence up - you need to convince yourself that you can hang with anybody else on that team, and that you're deserving enough to play. A lot of practice will build your skills, and give you solid proof that you CAN play volleyball.
Best of luck!

This is a pretty common problem... the fact is that no parent is going to like their daughter coming of age and starting to like other people. Although you can certainly try to present yourself to them - impress them with your maturity, discuss school or other topics, and so on - in most cases this is simply something you're going to have to wait on.
My high school girlfriend's parents were none to thrilled with me around this time... and now they're my in-laws. So things can work out, it just might take a while.

Give it a few days. The subject is still very close and new - your friends will cool off after a little while, and that'll provide you with an opportunity to talk about it and clear the air.
