Hello,
it is likely that your cortisol level is too high. Cortisol adds fat around the belly. Excess cortisol can be the result of fear--is there anything in your life that is making you worry?
One thing to try would be a form of meditation--you can meditate while running, walking...you don't necessarily have to sit down to do that, unless that suits you.
Do you take vitamins? Vitamin C (not the chewable kind--it can eat tooth enamel) helps dispell excess adrenalin which can cause a cortisol reaction.
Just a thought. Btw, my cortisol is to high and I share your belly fat problem. Bummer, but I'm working on getting rid of it.
Good luck, and keep working at it--

Hello fellow dog lover,
please take your best friend to the vet and get a diagnosis. IF it is cancer, try an herb called artemisia annua as it kills cancer cells. Please look this up on the net.
My dog passed away due to cancer and I should have used this wondrous herb on him.
Please try this--there is a lot of research out there about this herb and cancer and the vet community is beginning to take it seriously--there have been a few dog trials with it.
I wish I had used it on my best friend.
Best of luck--and keep the faith!

i have no idea if people have asked this before or what, but even if they did, please try to answer? its somewhat long; i apologize ahead of time.
ok, so i'm pretty much an athletic person. I play almost any sports and play on two teams at school. However, even though im not that bad with sports and i totally love playing, i have a horrible issue with running/conditioning. Like, i can run short distances really fast, but i cant run for very long. I can run longer if i have breaks inbetween too. but if i run consistently without stopping, my legs start to burn and i cant breathe.
I cant stand miles because afterwards i end up not being able to breathe for a while. Like for one practice we ended up running a lot of laps and by the end i couldnt really breathe properly for ten-twenty minutes. Is there a way to like... help me run better? Or not get as tired by the end/able to breathe normally? During games and stuff i almost never get tired. Its only during long conditionings and whatnot.
please help!! i have training all summer and i rather not die from lack of oxygen anytime soon. i'll rate high for helpful tips. (link)

Hello,
you are not deficient in any way, and you are not alone.
Here's what's going on: there are two types of muscles: they are called "slow twitch" and "fast twitch". People with predominately "slow twitch" muscles can run for miles and miles and miles, but they aren't great at sprinting. Conversely, people who lean toward having more "fast twitch" muscles (like you) are great at short spurts, such as the 50 or 100 yard dash, but long distances are a total bummer.
So: you excel at the fast stuff but not at the slow and steady stuff, and I am the same as you.
If you speak with your coach, it would be helpful. After all, science is on you side!
Run fast and feel free!
Sincerely,
musicfan
