Hello my name is samantha Hancock,
I am a Grade 12 student at Bowmanville High School.
I have been assigned an essay about the career you are pursuing after high school and we have to give an interview to someone. Since I don't know a Veterinary Technician I have to e-mail someone and ask them some questions.
So if you could possibly answer these or get someone to answer these it would hep me out largely!
Thank you in advance, Samantha
1What first interested you in this career?
2. What college did you attend?>
3. What was the most interesting thing you learned?
4. What is the best thing about your job?
5 What is the worst thing about your job?
6. How was finding a job after finishing school?
7. What is your favorite animal to work with?
8. What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while working?
9. Do you specialize in any certain animal?
10.Do you have any advice for someone looking into this career?

1> I was a freshmen in highschool and I was placed in the agriculture program in a class about horses. I fell in love with horses and decided I wanted to work with them for the rest of my life.
2> Mt San Antonio Community College in Walnut, CA
3> Everything! There is so much to learn and it never stops! I'm not finished with my education yet and everyday at school and work I learn something new.
4> My favorite part is being able to help living creatures. I can save a puppy from the brink or death and I can make a cat's pain stop. I can't think of any other job that I would be happy in.
5> When an animal's time is done. Especially when the animal could have been saved if someone acted sooner. I hate when owners bring in animals to put to sleep just because they don't want them any more and they don't want to give them to someone else.
6> Easy. The vet offices around my area are always looking for new techs it's very high in demand. I had to start at the bottom but so does everyone else.
7> Horses when I get to. But I'm mainly a small animal tech so besides horses I love working with the dogs.
8> Hmm thats a hard one. Oh I know we once had a man come in with a dog that said "I love you". It was soo weird - it was a husky dog and it actually sounded like he was saying "I love you".
9> No just small animals in general. I eventually plan on learning about horse and cattle vet science but I'm not up to that level in school yet.
10> Learn as much as you can. College provides alot of the info but it's helpful to have some knowledge before so read, volunteer, and learn learn learn. The more animals you know about the more job opportunites you will have too. It's areally rewarding job and you'll love it once you get started. Good luck with everything!
