So.. I've found out that I cannot get more peircings.. because my SECOND ear piericings I got keyloids. Which I had to have removed, and are gone thankfully. But then.. I got sick with this strange thing that caused sores.. and left hypertrophic scars. So.. my mainquesiton is.. would that happen if I got my belly button peirced.. or a tattoo?

And are there anyways to make hypertrophic scars.. less raised.. or noticeable.. because I'm 16, and it feels like the end of the world, because I have so many in obvious places. I know its not the end of the world, and I probably will just have to keep dealing iwth it forever, but I just wanted to know if I had anymore options.

Because I went to the plastic surgeon, and he said there..was.. nothing he could do, and I've had a huge scar on my shoulder from when I was a baby having heart surgery, so I guess I'm just emotionally traumitized by having SO many scars.. because right when I get over..wearing a bathing suit and people seeing my scar, I get new scars thhat I cant hide, or atleast get over as easily.. =/

I'm sorry if this is long and sounds whiney, I didnt intend it to be.. I just need some help.. (link)
As a woman in her thirties, it doesn't get much better.

I also have many scars and stretch marks, but the ones that bother me the most are the ones on my hands. I have a burn on one hand (small kitchen fire) and on the other, an ugly cut from a domestic incident (that one is the worse, because I'm contantly reminded of that horrible day). But it really is a blow to your sense of femininity, especially when people can be cruel and childish.

on my hand with the burn, I plan on having dermabrasion to kinda smooth and fade out the discoloration and wrinkling of the burn.

However, on the other hand which is cut (located below/center of the thumb and first finger) the original stitches became infected so, only half of the 2 1/2 scar healed well and the other half is really big, raised and ugly. Some cosmetic surgeons say they can cut it out and very carefully restitch, injecting the scar with cortisone or (forgot) if it starts to keloid, while some cosmetic surgeons say that its nothing that can be done.

On the cut, which is to me the worst of all, I think I will go ahead and try the silicone strips first.

In terms of cosmetic surgery get second opinions.

The scars may seem ugly, unfair and hindering, but only as much as you magnify them in your mind.
I've even had a jealous hearted "friend" bring them up constantly, whenever I was succeeding in something, like to bring me down and make me feel bad- got rid of that B-tch.

Also, lots of beautiful women have scars and have even used them to their advantage instead of considering them shameful.

also, read this one woman's story of survival and the scar that it left on her body and mind:

Girls, we're gonna be ok, and your more beautiful than you think you are!!

p.S.

Here is a good link that provides pics of padma lakshmi and her very visible scar- i watch top chef all the time and her scar almost looks beatiful- its your attitude!!
