In my family, my sister and I each have our fair share of chores. I sort the laundry, she puts the loads in and washes them. She loads the dishwasher, I unload it. The thing is, I'm 17 and my parents keep doubting that I'm capable of living on my own. They think im so stupid I dont know how to load a dishwasher or how to work the washing machine. I do, I just dont do it because its not my job around here. And just because I dont cook all the time, they think I wont be able to live because I don't know how to cook anything. All of this is so untrue. I am capable of all these things and much more, I just dont put them to use around the house and I admit it, I'm too lazy right now. But when I'm on my own, I definitely wont be. I'm sick of them doubting my intelligence everytime. And it's not only chores, it's in school as well. I make the highest grades in most of my classes, but I dont make straight A's. I am so much smarter than they think and I'm sick of them treating me like an idiot. Even after I prove to them I can do these things, they STILL continue to doubt me. I've tried letting it go and ignoring them, but it's gotten to the point where I cant anymore. Help? (link)

the best way to prove to your parents that you are an adult is by acting like one. try sitting your parents down and CALMLY explaining to them how it makes you feel when they treat you like that. you are trying your best to be a productive adult, and suggest that maybe you and your sister could swap chores every other week, to balance out the chores. maybe pick a night of the week or month to cook for your family.
they are only worried about you being out in 'the big bad world' all by yourself. you are always going to be their little girl in their minds, so you just need to prove to them and yourself that you could manage on your own.
good luck, and remember, stay calm, and by acting like and adult, they will start to see you as one.

I dyed my hair and it turned out really dark. I don't have the money to go and get it fixed anytime soon, so are there any specific hair products at the store that you've used and work really good? I just need to lighten it up some. (link)

dawn dish soap helps... wash your hair a bunch of times with it... like lather, rinse and repeat... and then make sure to use a healthy dose of conditioner and let that sit in your hair for a minute or so, then rinse that out. the dawn dish soap will dry your hair out, so don't skip the conditioner.
