okay, i'm born out of the united states... and i really want to go to college. but the colleges don't accept passports (my dad told me to use a passport). and they said they only accept green cards not passports. they gave me a sheet or a form about how much it costs to get into college if i'm not a us citizen and i don't have a green card. it costs about one thousand and something dollars each semester. but the problem is that my family doesn't have enough money to pay for it. and not just that, my dad says that they HAVE to accept passports when i told him a million times that they can't, and that they only accept green cards. so you know what he did? he took the sheet or form, and just teared it up and crumbled it and threw it in the trash. and yelled "DON'T GO TO COLLEGE TO LEARN THEN." but i don't want to be a failure in life (i'm not accussing anyone out there).

so is there any way i can get into college? get another green card? pay lower price? anything?! (link)
Well,
First of, if you are AMERICAN Citizen, then they should accept your passport.
If you are legally in the country on a student visa - they should accept student visa and ANY passport that proves your ID.
If you are not a citizen, I'd recommend trying to get in with some sort of a state ID (Driver's license) + other form of ID (other than DL & your passport) + some proof of residency such as a land-line phone bill or a gas/electric bill or a bank statement from big bank (Bo America or Citi bank).
P.S. Try to be nice to them, I know it's hard, but still try to :)
