How can I focus when I'm depressed?
I'm a 31 year old female. Victim of mobbing and wrongfully terminated from my HR job. Broke= no health insurance= no meds or therapy. Lost my father to cancer. Moved to PA, so I have no friends. Jobless with college degree & discriminated for being Hispanic. I want to do many things to cure my depression by myself, but I can't focus. I want to write but when I start I get 5 different stories in my head and lose focus. Any advice? (link)
first of all i hope things turn around for you real soon :). In regards to the focus i have had a similar experience in the past. The best writers write about what they know. So either use these feelings as your primary inspiration to write, or focus on beating your depression first. I know as a songwriter trying to write love songs when i was depressed just gave me an unconvincing, insincere sounding song at the end of the day. I will say writing about my sadder days helped me through the hard times considerably, and i'm sure the same would happen for you.

I cant afford a vocal teacher. But what are some ways to get better at singing. Give some examples and sites. Or even techniques you use. Thanks. (link)
honestly, if you want to get good results quickly, you should try to scrounge some cash for a teacher. But there are some things you can focus on.

try to keep your throat open and don't clench, sing from your diaphragm. Stay hydrated, drink water on the regular, it makes a huge difference when you have a healthy instrument to work with.
Also something that helps is lubricating your throat before you sing. Not water, i'm talking pineapple juice, or a spoonful of olive oil or honey.
