Please answer only if you have experince in ballet or know someone who does...
I am a female, age 14, and I weigh 140lbs (about). Do you think I am too fat to do pointe work? Am I too fat to have a partner? What can I do to ensure that I will be able to start pointe in the fall? (I have to please my teacher and it is totally her choice wether or not I can take pointe) Do you think I need to loose weight for this? Thank you so much

It shouldn't matter as long as your fit and the weight doesnt bother your feet or make them swell... make sure your growth plates in your big toes are fully grown before you try pointe. I tried it when I was 14 too, but my growth plates weren't fully grown and I fractured both big toes... now I can probably never do pointe again.
And to go along with the partner it shouldnt matter, just build your core and be physically strong.
Also, work with your feet as much as possible, stretch them and point, point, point as much as you can. It will help you get over the box on your shoe and help please your teacher.
