18, female!
well i've been on birth control for two years now, to regulate my periods. i'm still a virgin. i went to the doctor today to talk to her about my birth control, and different options. i was on the ortho tri cyclen lo but she suggested that i went on something else because i had a problem with the ortho tri cylcen. well we talked ,and she decided to put me on yaz. she said she has been on it for 5 years now and absolutely loves it. i talked to her about having sex, and how i am going to want to in the near future and if this will help prevent pregnancy and she said yes, as long as i use a condom too! well she sent my prescription to my pharmascist and me and my mom went to go pick it up and they gave me the generic of yaz, it's called Ocella. i'm a little worried, because just today i ready that generics are not as effective as regular brands. i started freaking out, my mom said sometimes that they do give you the generics if they have it because it's cheaper. my mom doesn't know i MIGHT become sexually active , so i don't want to be like "well mom, i'm going to have sex, i want this to be as effective as possible" so now i'm really worried that this generic brand is not going to be as good :\ anyone ever use this birth control called Ocella? or have heard anything about generic birth control? i looked at it online, and it said it is used to help prevent pregnancy but after reading an article in a magazine it really had me thinking. thanks, anything will help! (Okay, I'm younger than you but trust me.)
All birth control pills will reduce the chance of pregnancy to 1-3%. Condoms will reduce that chance to near zero. Condoms also prevent the spread of STDs.
I'm going to use a metaphor.
Yaz is a Gucci and Cabana purse
Ocella is the department store version.
They have the same function and usefulness, but one is WAY cheaper than the other.

BUT IT DOESENT BUG ME ? NO PAIN ........ please help! i searched online and got really scared by what it might be!!! so scared! (link)
It could be your hymen. It could also be your urethral opening. It's where your pee comes out. It is extremely unlikey for a young girl to have vaginal cancer. If you are truly concerned, you NEED to tell your mom or your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry.
