Well, what does it mean? (link)
In my opinion it doesn't matter *what* you are, it matters *who* you are. I personally try not to categorise people into "goth" "punk" "townie" whatever, and besides everything seems to be mingled together these days.

Strictly speaking, a goth is a member of a Germanic people who invaded the Roman Empire in the early centuries of the Christian era. But I'm sure that's not what you mean :)

Stereotypically, modern day "goths" wear black clothing, listen to dark music, have suicidal tendencies and are anti-social. But of course, this is only in the eyes of a narrow-minded person. This type of gothic culture originated with the "death of punk" so it's a kind of sub-culture derived from that.

As I said before though, I don't agree with labelling so it's quite difficult to answer your question as there are no real answers to it.

I hope that gave you a bit of an insight though ;)
