I kinda want my underwear back.
I'm not exactly sure why you took them, but i have an idea. Maybe you thought i was trying to 'impress' somebody? Maybe for punishment? Maybe you thought i was growing up too fast?
i'm not exactly sure but i think its one of those.

Its kind of a personal preference, its more comfortable & stuff.

Okay, first off, is your mother in prison? Why are you writing this instead of just talking to her?
Now then, as far as the subject matter is concerned specifically, there are some gaps. Did she take ALL of your underwar, or just a few choice pairs? (How did she manage this from prison.)
In all honesty, I think your mother just loves you, and is trying to protect you from becoming some people. (aka sluts!)
If talking to your mother reasonably doesn't work, I suggest that you propose to her that instead of not showing people your underwear, you will show people your lack of underwear. See what she says to that.
