ive liked this guy since summer but hes just started to get to know me. I danced with him at this party over the weekend and my friends keep on trying to figure out if he likes me but he always says that hes not looking for a relationship. the thing is, before he found out that i liked him he always flirted with me. I dont know what to do because i like him so much but i cant do anything about it. I know it sounds like he really doesnt want a girlfriend but he has this best friend 2 provinces away (Its a girl) and he said something about this girl he might like. So i dont know. what should i do? (link)

just read your letter and it sparked my interest. i too was once in a situation of sorts, but what helped me was to be able to read the signs. first you should distinguish if he was flirting with you because he was interested or if he was flirting with you because its a natural reflex ( people are flirtatious by nature) Also the friends scouting out the prospect is a bad idea, if you were to approach him it would show him that you are confident in who you are. sometimes the best relationships begin as great friends, try being his friend before his girl friend too.
