Yeah yeah, "embrace your youth", i know.

But that doesn't always work when you're going to formal events/job interviews/etc.

I'm almost 16, and I look extremley young. My question is does anyone know of anything I can do with my hair/makeup/clothing that will make me appear older? (photo of me on column name: pockets). (link)
Slather on some make up, no bra, low cut top and short shorts, and you're good to go!

Haha, no. Well, for starters, I don't know what hairstyle you currently have, but if it's long? Try something short. Not only will it look more adult than long, little-girl hair, but it will also help define your cheekbones. However, if you don't have time to do that, try a ponytail or a simple twist or up do.

Next step: makeup [caution: DO NOT GO TO THE CHANEL COUNTER AND BUY BIG TUBS OF EVERYTHING AND USE IT ALL AT ONCE! But you're smart, do you already knew that, right? Right. [= ]

I would suggest some DARK eyeliner [try dark violet if you have brown eyes, black if you have hazel, deep brown if you have blue eyes, and the same for green eyes]. Apply 2 coats to your UPPER lashline. And then, one, thin [THIN!] coat on the bottom, from the corner to the area just past your pupil [about the middle of your lashline]. Then you know, hi light your cheekbones, do your normal routine, but tone down any bright color; nude colors are best. Add some orangey-red lipstick, and you're good!

Last step: outfit! Pick something professional, but flattering. A denim blazer with a simple dress, or some nice slacks would be good. Don't forget heels! :]

Hope that helps!

xx, Holly

im hanging out with a group of friends. we are 5. im really close to 2 of them and after 2006 the other 2 changed a lot. us three (really close friends) want to get ride of or ditch (sounds bad) but like not be the other 2s firends anymore. ive tried talking to them about it and giving them hints but they dont get it. wen i start school, wat should i do? i need to get rid of them. they have changed, they make us look bad and they are soooo annoying. helpp (link)
The thing is, it's not really a good idea to just randomly drop friends. It's painful for the other people, especially if you were close[ish] friends and they felt like they trusted you. And to be honest, it's pretty mean to just decide to "get rid of people", no matter how different from you they become.

But, if they aren't your idea of a good friendship anymore, here's what you could do: start being too busy for them. Join a sport team, take up irish dancing, whatever [or make them think you did-- though be VERY, VERY CAREFUL with this. If they find out, it's going to be even more humiliating for them.] If they see that you and your friends have moved on with your life a little bit, they may start to branch out and make new friends, an eventually, you'll grow apart.

Keep in mind though, ALL friendships that end can leave bitter feelings and resentment. Be very, very polit [not nice neccesarily] to them, or they could crush you with everything they know about you, especially if you've been friends for a while.

Good Luck!
xx, Holly
