Anyone in Central Illinois might be able to help me with this one better than anything, but its worth a shot since Google aint been much help..

Some of my friends have been to this supposed Satanist Worship Temple called the Kalyx Center. My friend and I were going to walk out to it, but chickened out cuz its like a half mile walk out into the woods and neither of us could get cell phone signal in case something did happen. Our friends have told us horror stories of being out there.
I was wondering if anyone knows what the Kalyx Center really is. I googled it and it comes up as a "wooded paradise" adjoining to Allerton Park.
Theres a halloweed party out there and everything, so it really doesnt make since why my friends don't want me going out there and say its a satanic worship temple.

Can anyone tell me what this place really is?

*Note* *It was originally used for some guy that owned a local radio station.* (link)
It "ain't" a supposed Satanist Worship Temple. It's just a center where people can come and be reflective about their lives.

You sound a bit like you live in a nearby town and have very little education, used to go to church when you were a kid but don't any more. I'll bet you went out to an organized event out there and just didn't like it. Again, it's just a place for groups to come out and have retreats for a day or so.

And, your friends are just joshing you in sort of a junior high way about the Satanist bit. It's a bit like the old practice of telling scary stories around the campfire. I think you should just lose those friends. They are very ill informed. I know the person who runs it and that person's a very compassionate person who supports good causes.

It's just sooooo easy to start a rumor like...
"My friend and I were going to walk out to it, but chickened out cuz its like a half mile walk out into the woods and neither of us could get cell phone signal in case something did happen."... c'mon, you don't think that your typing a little fiction story like that is going to carry a lot of weight, do you? I think that you're just afraid of people who just aren't completely a carbon copy of yourself; you might just be trying to 'diss' a completely good person who is just minding their own business. I surely hope not.

Maybe you should just stay in town, get married and have 2 children, a ranch house, a yard, and maybe a dog, and never go out of town except to go shopping at Walmart occasionally. That way, you'd feel safe. Don't worry, the Kalyx Center isn't anything that you're making it out to be.
