I live in the north and there is this thing that we have where you can't wear white after labor day? Is that still true?

I live in the north as well and yes you can wear white after labor day. If it is eighty degrees in October and you want to wear white then wear it. I lived in the south for 10 years and I wore white year round. Never let someone stop you from being who you are and wearing what you want to wear. If it looks good and you feel good in it then go for it.

P.S. Most people don't wear white because they can't keep it clean.

I am looking for a job and I have gaps in my work history, what is the best wording to use on my resume'. I stayed at home and took care of my mother and my kids.

You will need to classify that job title as a home care provider. Next you will all of the duties that you performed daily. If it was taking your children to school, or taking your mom to medical appointmets. Providing meals and grooming can also be included as additional tasks. I also wanted to add that although you work not in the workforce you were working very hard.
