Don't overanalyze it. Just kiss him.
Chances are he's just as nervous about it as you are, but if he gets that close, he's probably interested in kissing you.

There is this guy at school I like (and might like me) and all of my crazy friends say I have him whipped. We really don't ever give hints that we like each other, but we playfight a lot. Being 'whipped' generally means that someone will do whatever's asked of them by you, to a fault, or that they will go too far out of their way to do things for you.
If you like him and want to know if he likes you, find a time to talk to him alone and say something along the lines of "I like you. Do you feel the same?"
Being direct about it is the easiest way to get a direct answer. If he does indeed return the feelings, he'll love that you asked. If he doesn't, you should accept that carry on. Worst case scenario, it's a little awkward... but only as much as you let it be.
