no one visits my website. i submitted it to the search engines and everything, and I think it's pretty good content-wise. any ideas on how I can get more visitors? (link)
Start an email list or newsletter about a relevant topic and get that listed in web directories too.

Make a blog and keep it updated at least a few times a week. Get that listed too.

Put your URL in your email signature.

Go to online community sites like http://www.backwash.com and join up with your URL in your profile. Then find out which columnist would be the best to approach about getting your site listed in their directory. At BackWash your site may be included in newsletters and communities once it gets listed the first time in a column.

Join email lists and when you make a relevant post include your URL in your signature line.

Check for newsgroups, you can go through Google News now and do the same as with email lists.

Trade links with other webmasters.

Consider writing and exchanging content with other webmasters too.

Make an eye catching, unique, cute, etc web graphic for people to take to link to your site in their blogs, and etc.

Apply to edit a category at Dmoz which is relevant to your site. That way you get it listed and you can compare your site to similar sites and see what works for them.

Good luck.

how do you know if you're addicted to the internet? (link)
Stay offline for a week, unplug your computer. Don't even go online to check email. If you can do that without acting like someone giving up smoking or some other addictive habit, you're okay. If you start acting like a grumpy bear (or worse) you know you have a problem.

Does Anyone know any good, free chat rooms to go to to meet people around the teen age? (link)
I like BackWash. But, it's not usually busy. The boards are better than the chat.

Has everyone who posts here forgotten the basic rules of grammer?

Do they not know how to turn off CAPS LOCK?

Do they not know how to capitalise the letter I?

I refuse to answer any question that is unreadable because the author cannot be bothered to write properly. (link)
I work as an editor online. What I really get tired of is: This is the Greatest Website Ever. It's Full of Really Great Content. Geared to People Who Come to this Website...

It's a real nuisance to go back and uncap every other word. I usually just delete them all and write my own extremely short version. If you can't take the time to make yourself clear than obviously you aren't interested in getting help.
