First of all, make sure that you're ready emotionally to have sex. Not just that you really like the guy/girl, but that you feel like you're safe with them and that you feel like you're ready. If they're pressuring you into it, then you should take a step back and ask if this is really what YOU want to do.

Also, if you're not on birth control of some form, and you plan on having sex, I would seriously consider that. At the very least, please please use a condom. But! Remember that condoms don't protect you from diseases, just pregnancy... and they aren't 100% fool-proof, either. Just a warning.

It may or may not hurt the first time, it will sort of depend on quite a few factors. Your physical activities in the past (are you active in sports?) because if you're physically active, you are more likely to have already broken or stretched your hymen. It also depends on the man's consideration for it having been your first time. Gentle touches help it to not hurt as much. Bleeding goes right along with this, whether or not your hymen has broken has a lot to do with bleeding.
