hey.

i have some trouble reading. like, i read, but i don't retain. the only time i retain is when i am in love with the book. when i read, i start thinking about other stuff & i can't concentrate on the book. i try to "picture" it in my head, but it doesn't help much. i really want to start reading more.

i read in a quiet, well-lit comfortable [but not TOO comfortable] area.

do you have any tips, please?

i need advice on how to get the BIG picture. i pick up all the little unnecessary details, but i don't get the big picture. i've tried reading paragraphs, even chapters at a time & asking myself, "what did i just read?" but i just have trouble retaining.

i'm pretty sure i don't have like, a learning deficiency because when i really like a book, i understand it completely. but for the books that are manditory for school, etc. i need help.

thank you. (link)
Try reading out loud and jot down some notes, like if its for school. If its for school then read a paragraph and write down the most important thing about it,thats what my teacher tells us to do. It helps us on tests too. soooooo...... yah, just write stuff down that seems important. And if its not for school and its just for fun then pick books that seem exciting to you, cuz if your bored your never gonna get the big picture. hope this helps!
luv
