Sometimes my advice is good advice, and sometimes it's just an opinion. Sometimes people don't take good advice (ironically.) If everybody would just talk to each other, we'd have world peace, so you probably won't see "just talk to them" in my column.

I worked as a Registered Nurse for a few years so I know a little about health.

I think and read about spiritual things. I answer spiritual questions without trying to convert anyone to my own beliefs. I'm a non-denominational Christian, but I believe everyone has a path to follow, and God is patient, so I answer spiritual questions from where you are.

I belive in God, but i was wondering, if God created us, and all the earth, how was he created and how did he create everything, what was it it all like w/o God, how can he just appear from thin air when there is no thin air, were does he appear from if there's nuthin to appear from, how did he create the universe and beyond, if there was never anything to create it from, if there was once no such thing as the universe, where did he create it from, was there sumthin before God, and if so how did he/she make stuff, where did God come from????????

if it helps, i belive in Christianity, and I'm a catholic (my parents are catholic, and i was brought up in a catholic church, but when i moved, i started goin to a non denominational church, i haven't been to church in about 7.5 months, and im thinkin about goin back to church so i wanted info)

if u don't know how to answer this, please just put ur input, like even if all u said was unexplainable i'd still rate ya a 3, unless i get a rude remark, i'll rate you a 3,4,or 5 usually i rate 4s and 5s tho!!

i've asked my really religious nayber, and she said God was always there, ALWAYS WHERE? (link)
I used to wonder about that, too. I thought - if God could just come from no where, then why can't the whole universe come from no where without God being involved? But they are actually both equivalent concepts.

Believing in God does take faith, and one of the best ways to build faith is to pray and look for answers, and to spend time with other people who have faith.

My mom and dad are jewish. my parents want me to be like them and do what they do. my best friend is christian and she took me to church with her once and i recieved Jesus into my life. i really want to be like my friend and be christian but my parents wont accept it! what do i say to them? i am my own person right? (link)
You can be both. There is such a thing as a Messianic Jew. There is a lot of information about Messianic Jews on the internet. They don't feel like they have given up being Jewish because they've accepted Jesus, but often people in the Jewish community feel like they are not Jewish anymore.

Maybe you can so some research on Messianic Jews (there are several types) and discuss this with your parents.

Okay hi its barb(ara) agian.I go 2 a cathcloic school n i dunt mean 2 sound like i dunt belive in god but i do.I mean still we are beliving in a ghost thats over 4000 years old.But it seems like GOd Is forcing us 2 belive in him n make him seem LIKE HE IS POWERFUL only HE is great. Its like yu nver write the word Bob in capitals just cuz he has a cool name.I mean y should god be all powerful n y should we honer him he seems like an electrain trying 2 burn out the light.I have nothing agaisnt god but what am i beling in?I have no clue about it.Our school forces us 2 be more cathcloic and it seems the more they do that the worse the kids become.Kids in 2nd grade at my cathcloic school is cursing. We r starting fights. It seems the more they take it away the more we do it.Y kant they just leave us alone????-Catholic and Unfaithful (link)
I think the goal of Catholic schools is try to teach students about their religion, the history of it, how to practice it, etc., more than to give you spirituality. So I would take advantage of just learning what they are trying to teach you.

They are also trying to keep the school environment structured, and trying to keep students from disrupting the class, or causing distress to the other students and teachers. They do this by having rules and discipline. Public school is probably a lot worse, not because they are telling students to be a certain religion, but because they have trouble enforcing discipline, and keeping the classroom calm and structured.

So school, teachers, and students are a completely different thing from believing in God. Your relationship with God is personal. If you want to, try praying for answers to your questions about God. Maybe you will find out more things, and that will help you feel better.

for anyone that goes to church on a regular basis is holiness the same as church of god in christ? I went to a church saying its religion is holiness. my mother doesnt go but my grandma is but she cant really explain it. someone please explain it to me. (link)
Church of God in Christ is a denomination of Protestant churches. (There are many denominations with different ways of interpreting the Bible.)

The word "Holiness" used in this way is a description of thier interpretation of the Bible, and means something similar to Pentacostal. Here is a website that can give you an idea of what they meant. They are describing their church as a Holiness church. Holiness usually involves baptism in the Holy Spirit, speaking in toungues, miracles, etc. If you have more questions, the best source would be the the pastor of the church.

OK me and my friends were having a discussion and one of my friends stated that the faith of catholic is just another branch of christianity, but catholics have very very different beliefs then christians do. Can someone help me make up my mind? (link)
Catholics are definitely Christians. I don't know why the rumor started that they weren't.

The main difference between Protestants and Catholics is the authority of the priests. Catholics believe a priest is necessary to hear confession, give last rights, etc. Protestants believe every person has a direct contact with God though prayer and does not need a human to approach God for them.

I've always been curious about this. If anyone had ever talked to a ghost, or almost died, and came back to tell about it, I'd like to hear your story. I never have done either, and I wonder what it is like, and if this is for real. (link)
There are several books about "near death experiences" where people have technically died, then were revived. One example is "Life After Life" by Raymond Moody, who interviews people who have had this experience. Go to Amazon.com or some other on-line book store and put "near death experience" in the search to find more. I haven't read any of them myself.

I haven't had a near death experience, although I did have surgery and when you are asleep on an operating table, who knows what happens. I woke up unable to speak because they put a tube down my throat.

I believe in ghosts. I may have seen a ghost (or been dreaming with my eyes open) but it was no one I knew, and I did not speak to it. I have talked to other people who have seen ghosts, too.

There is another book called "The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren" by Gerald Brittle. It is a really scary book, because it give accounts of hauntings, and explains thier theory of the difference between supernatural phenomon like ghosts and demons. The more recent version has been altered and doesn't have the photos, but maybe that is a good thing.

These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life. i swear im living another life but these dreams seem so completley REAL! i feel lik in supposed to be in a diffrent world or place could these dreams come true?? also i think or dream about stuff one day and it comes true the next day and i already saw it the night before this only happens once in a while though?? what is going on help!!!! (link)
I would keep a detailed dream diary, writing down your dreams right after you wake up. Then a second journal writing down what exactly happened later that was predicted. You can see the frequency and type of dreams that predict the future, how closely, and you can see if your dreams are really consistent, like another life.

If it actually does show that you are having premonitions, or recurring dreams, you can either go to a psychologist, or a good psychic for advice.

I don't know how to find a good psychic, though. Like any other profession, you have to just search and talk to them until you find one you are comfortable with and respect.

I have been an athiest for about four years, and I have begun to feel lacking in that area. I looked up many differnt religions, and took trusted belief tests to see what would best fit with what I really want and believe. The tests all pointed to Pagan. I have looked up on it, and it just seems to fit. I feel so happy, even just going through a normal day is better now that I have found it. However, I do not think my parents (catholic and athiest) will accept it. Anyone who has had a similar "coming out" (be it of religion or sexual orientation) care to help me form a plan, so they might see my view?

Blessed Be (link)
Your parents are an atheist and a Catholic? That sounds like an interesting marriage.

I don't see why the atheist parent would care if you are a pagan. It just makes no sense to me that someone who doesn't believe in God/Goddess would feel strongly that other people not believe in God/Goddess either, unless they are finding that threatening. If the beliefs of others are threatening, then they may not really be an atheist.

I can understand why the Catholic parent would be upset. The amount of upset depends on how committed they are to the Catholic faith. Since they are married to an atheist, I would think there is not that strong of a committment to thier faith.

Also, the reaction will probably depend on how you practice your new beliefs. If you go to pagan gatherings, seek out pagan friends, investigate pagan history, etc., it would probably make more of a difference than if you just walk into the room and announce "I've decided to become a pagan." If you choose a group of people who routinely practice witch craft and magic, and camp in the woods doing ceremonies, yes, you will alarm your parents. If you just go to classes at new age stores, and no more than that, they will probably take it better.

Since it is new to you, I would do a lot more investigating, and keep it kind of low keyed around your parents until you are sure of what kind of pagan you want to be.

i recently have been excommunicated out of a great church due to not following their rules i was happy there part of me wants it back but part of me wants to live the way i want to live how do i get it all to mesh together so i can be happy all the time i loved the church i really still do i miss it all what should i do if you need more details please let me know but i warn you it is long well if anyone can help let me know (link)
I would look for another church. All the things you loved about your church can probably be found in another church.

I wonder if you are LDS. I have know a lot of excommunicated LDS and Mormons. It doesn't take much. If you are, you are not alone.

OK, yesterday, I was in my bedroom and I was getting my journal out to write in it and i couldn't find my pencil, then i saw it on the table and it was too far for me to reach it and when I was stretching my arm to get it, it moved into my hand. My window wasn't open so that rules out wind. Am I telekenisis? (link)
You should test it. If you can move an object like a pencil at will over and over then yes, but if you try it again, and nothing happens, then no. If not, then why that pencil moved yesterday will just remain a mystery.

ummm lets see is any one here lds? because if u r i would like to chat (link)
I'm not LDS. I think they are not that common so you may be lucky to find them here.
