Q: okay...im 13/f. i excercise a lot, i play: softball, basketball, and volleyball. I go to the gym around 3 times a week atleast. im 5'3". What should my ideal weight be? (i weigh about 117 now.)

Q: my period is coming up real soon, and every single one of my friends have told me that tampons work wonders. (by the way i have only had my period once before and im 13) but my mom thinks im not ready, and i feel ready, i have tried one of my mom's tampons, there regular, and i got it in like half way, and i asked her for the beginners teen easy slide ones, and she claims that i am to young to start it, and 2 of my best friends already started putting tampons in by there 3rd period. can someone one give me advice on if i am to young? or jus keep practicing with my moms? ill rate

Well, let me share my experience with you. My mom wouldnt let me use tampons until I had my period for a year. She finally let me when i was 13 (my bday party was at a lake... lol) before that i had tryed to use an adult tampon at my friend's house... and i didnt like it at all. The teen ones are much more comfortable. i've noticed that the 1st few periods aren't as i dunno "periodish" as later ones. I would wait for maybe 6 months to approach you mom again. be very mature and tell her that you would like to be allowed to use tampons. let her know that you know how to insert them (if she asks you how... BOOKS! lol) and you know the risks involved. You will never wear them more than 6 hours, because after 8 hours you run the risk of developing toxic shock syndrome. See what other info you can find on health sites and just let her know how educated you are about it. If you dont think this will convince your mom... call your doctor and ask him/her what an appropriate age to use tampons is, and what info they can give you about it. it may be a little embarssing... but doctors are used to that kind of thing!! i hope i helped you, and if you need anything else, or more sugggestions just let me know my sending me a question, or AIMing me @ squeakyshoes567
