i have played basketball for 2 years now im pretty good but not the best well now i moved and i made alot of new friends i really wanna play basketball next year but they all keep saying no dont play only popular girls play ( im not a nerd or geek, im just also as my friends say not "popular" ) should i listen to my friends or should i just try out for the team (link)

Seriously what kind of friends ae these that dont support you with the simplest of things such as joining the team . My advice is dont let them stop you , If your a good player then join , and if this team is for the popular people then dont let that intimidate you either , If you care at all about being popular than thats another reason you should join , your knew to this school so join and make new friends , My freshmen year I joined soccer and softball and it helped me reach the popular level at my school I made knew different friends , so do it
