about

Hey guys! My name is Katy, I'm 16, and I'm from Massachusetts. I'm going to be a junior in high school. I'm a pretty friendly person and I have friends of all different groups, locations, ethnicities, etc. I can usually be found listening to music (I play the drums), playing volleyball, watching the Red Sox, being online, making websites, watching the Simpsons or Bug Juice :o), attempting to drive a car (with a parent or guardian in the passenger seat of course ;o) ), IMing my friends, keeping up with my journals, writing, reading, doing homework :oP, at school, dancing in the privacy of my own room, making people laugh, or giving people advice :o). My friends often come to me for advice, and I like to give advice, and so here I am!

advice

im 13 next week, and i thought that to be a great musician and get a contract you had to be at least like 16; but then i saw this thing about how JoJo and britney spears (JoJo now, britney spears like 6 years ago) both were 13 when they made their first music video...
i'm really into rock, and i'm trying

Whatever you do (sing, play an instrument, whatever), you have to practice to get better at it. Practice as much as you possibly can. If you're looking for a bad, advertise in music stores (Daddy's Junky Music, Guitar Center, etc.). If you're a singer, say that you are a singer in search of a bassist, guitarist, and drummer in your area and give your phone number (if that weirds you out, give an e-mail address). You could also post flyers in your library or in other public places. Look for kids in your school who are in the school band or who play outside of school and ask if they'd be interested. Encourage your friends who "always wanted to try an instrument" to go for it, and take lessons. Good luck!
