He repeatedly mentions never getting a chance to thank someone for giving him a place to go and making him strong. The word "Angels" in the title also seems to insinuate that the song is about somebody who lost somebody before they were ready, so I'm going to go ahead and say that the song is about a close friend passing away.

I think the song is called "Be My Escape" by Reliant K. I think the CD is called MMHMM. They have a couple other CDs, but I don't know the name of them.
