Oh god who knows? The relationships with guys and friends. The hormones? Most likely.
Every one who is the same age that are going through different things are all caught up in a tight space called high school. No room to distance yourself from your crush or enemy.
It's just us teenagers. Going around and being dramatic. Always has been this way - always will.

Q: i'm a little unsure about the category but i guess it doesn't matter
i have a school dance coming up in a few days and i am supposed to go with this girl. i didnt really ask her but we kind of agreed to go together about three weeks ago. i dont really like her as more than a friend but i know that she likes me. i really wanted a date to the dance even if it was just as friends and i knew that she liked me so i figured she would say yes. now theres about 3 days left until the dance and i decided that i dont want to have a date anymore. i want to go alone so that there is no pressure to hang out with this girl but its too late to say i dont wanna go with her anymore. she offered to not go together but i couldnt do that because i thought that would be pretty mean. well i told one of her friends about how i didnt want a date and more and she promised not to tell anyone about it. but her friend broke the promise and told her. now things are awkward between us. i dont know what to do. i feel so stressed out about this. please help.

this gorl already knows that you don't want to go with her so you might as well tell her. at the dance you two are going to be REALLY awkward towards each other, tell her that, and that your sure you two will have more fun apart then together.
if there is one thing i've learned about relationships is that it's a bad idea to be more then friends with friends.
okay it might hurt her but in the long run you will happy and she'll get over it.

Instead of waiting for him to talk to you, try to talk to him the next time you see him in the hall or on the bus.
