Hello I'm McKenzie and in the 5th Grade. I usually wear comfy clothes, laid back, ect. Which I don't mind wearing. Despite me having a ton of good dressy clothes. But every once in a while I want to look good and I guess care a little more. I'm a tomboy but I don't think it hurts too dress ok every once and a while. But the problem is if you wear comfy clothes at my school your expected to always wear them. If you wear dress clothes you are expected and so on.
And if not your mocked. I don't mind but I usually just wear my regular clothes because I get tired of hearing people say " What are you wearing "!?? .
Then laughing. Even if it was from W-Mart to Prada

You can make you walmart clothes work just match them properly and add different accesseries like scarfs and headbands. Also try looking through hand me downs that might fit you and tailor them a bit. I think mixing and matching is the key to fashion. Wear what you like and feel comfortable in no matter what anyone else thinks. Most of my clothes are from the thrift store and I'm a pretty fashionable person. You can also get inspiration from tv shows and magazines. I wish you good luck!
I think that people might not accept change at first, no one really does but what they think doesn't matter, no one should laugh at what you wear, so wear what you want!
