I know this is going to sound ridiculous and you're gonna judge me for being such a baby, haha, but I am 17 and afraid to use tampons. I've had my period for about 5 years and have always used pads. I'm a virgin and I'm just afraid of it hurting, I have a very low tolerance for pain and I just can't get over my fear. I know there is gonna come a time when I neeeed to use one for swimming or working out. I just can't get over being afraid. Help? (link)
Hey, Don't worry about it. I know many women who have never used tampons and they're completely fine. It's up to you if you want to try it. As for trying to get over your fear of the pain (which is normal), just remember that yes, it might hurt the first time, but with time and practice you will become used to it as long as you are responsible (as in not leaving it for too long) and doing it right. It's similar to getting contacts or shaving. The first time you do it, it may hurt, but once you learn how to do it right, you'll be fine. And if you don't want to try it, it's perfectly fine. Just like with contacts and shaving, it is your choice to make. Hope this helped
