I'd just like to ask for help regarding customizing my site. I don't really want anything elaborate, but I haven't learned html yet so I don't really know how to about it, and I don't want to screw it up in the end.
I'd really just like a background or something so my profile doesn't look so plain. (link)

On the left hand column, there are 2 sections under registered users called profile settings and column settings. You can use those to customize your profile including a background, any information you want to include on your column, and any other thing like that. It is really simple. The profile setting is used for any information you may want to include on your profile. The column settings is where you can change your background. Under the heading "Your Column Colors" is where it explains what you can do and includes already made backgrounds or colors for your column.
