I am looking at clothes on-line, and some are XXL and some are 2XL and it seems like these should be the same thing, right? But if they are the same thing, then why do they call them two different things? Clothing sizes are confusing enough without making up different names for the same things! Are they different? (link)
"Depends on the manufacturer.

XXL is often a half-size bigger than XL, but not as big as a "true" 2X.

2XL can mean "double big AND extra LONG. which is still not the same as an XXLT, which is double big and TALL.

Its all code language and all specific to each individual maker."

I found the answer above on yahoo answers that kind of explains it in detail, but yes they are basically the same thing although most clothing sizes will vary depending on the manufacturer. Before buying clothes online, it is best to have tried on clothes from the store so you get an estimate on how their brand of clothes fits up. I hope this helped :)

Thanks for trying but that answer you fund is totally wrong about XXL and 2XL being different things. I called the help customer service numbers on a couple clothes packages and they both said those two were identical. Just two ways of writing the same thing.
